The vineyards in Gironde are the oldest fine wine vineyards in the world and the biggest Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée area in France. Life in Gironde has been governed by the winegrowing and winemaking seasons for the last 2000 years : the first vine stock was planted in 1AD by Bituriges Vivisci, the Gallic tribe that founded Burdigala (Bordeaux).

Go on a discovery tour of the best known appellations including Margaux, Saint-Estèphe, Pomerol, Saint-Emilion, Loupiac, Sauternes, etc..., and the most prestigious châteaus including Ausone, Cheval-Blanc, Haut-Brion, Latour, Pape-Clément, Petrus, Yquem…

Whether you are a true enthusiast or just a lover of wines, find out all about the art of wine tasting at one of these great places to visit : in Bordeaux , in Médoc, in Entre-deux-mers, in the Libourne area, in Haute-Gironde.

Take a trip through the universe of Bordeaux wines on the Planet Bordeaux recreational, educational and multi-sensory tour, with its interactive tasting space and a cellar of 1001 châteaus (1001 Bordeaux wines at vineyard prices).
